DESCRIPTION OF EACH WINE:

"IL PREGIUDIZIO" SUPERTUSCAN IGT - VINTAGE 2020: Alcoholic content: 14.5%. Suggested serving temperature: 18 C / 64.40 F. Aging: a long period in French oak barrels holding 500 liters, followed by 8 months of aging in bottle. It has a deep red color and an elegant, deep and enveloping body. Fruity and floral, with notes of plum, blackberry and cherry jams but also rhubarb, eucalyptus, cedar, tobacco and black cherry. Presence of tertiary aromas, such as toasted or spicy hints of cocoa, cloves and young leather. Incredible finesse with solid and compact structure and long persistence. SUGGESTED FOOD PAIRINGS: Game dishes such as stews, braised meats, wild boar, guinea fowl or duck, but also roasted veal and pork. Or, as a so called «meditation wine», to be drunk in the evening paired with dark chocolate. A curiosity: why the name «Il Pregiudizio »? “Il Pregiudizio” means “The Prejudice”. Actually, the name 'Supertuscan' was coined by the well-known US wine critic Robert Parker, to initially identify all the great Tuscan red wines from the Bolgheri and Castagnato Carducci area which did not fall under the denomination of controlled and guaranteed origin because of the use of international vines, especially Cabernet Sauvignon, and because of the refinements in the cellar often conveyed by French barriques, following the imprint of the Bordeaux model. With "Il Pregiudizio", Terre di Perseto intends to dispel this myth, or better, 'this prejudice' that only the Bolgheri area is capable of giving life to great Supertuscans, thus proposing a Supertuscan which is 100% made in Chianti Classico, showing how this region too, with its typical limestone soil, is able to develop a Cabernet Sauvignon SuperTuscan which structure, hints and aromas, that, in our opinion, have nothing to envy to that of Bolgheri. Tasting is believing - or better, Tasting is dispelling any prejudice!!

"L'ORGOGLIO" GRAND SELECTION CHIANTI CLASSICO DOCG - VINTAGE 2019: Alcoholic content: 13.5%. Suggested serving temperature: 18 C / 64.40 F. Aging: a long period in French oak barrels holding 500 liters, followed by 8 months of aging in bottle. A GRAN SELEZIONE/GRAND SELECTION CHIANTI CLASSICO DOCG WINE is a wine made exclusively from native Chianti Classico vines owned by the winery. Gran Selezione Chianti Classico represents the pinnacle of the Chianti Classico pyramid: a true quintessence of Chianti Classico. It is a wine of great structure, body and finesse, and, thanks to its prolonged aging, it has completely smoothed out the tannins, which have now become enveloping and silky. It is a wine with an extremely elegant, sumptuous and meditative character. In the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione you can identify notes ranging from ripe berries to notes of licorice and black cherry, however also enriched by penetrating and elegant tertiary notes of vanilla, leather and tobacco. SUGGESTED FOOD PAIRINGS: Ideal for pairing with dishes of great complexity and structure, spicy food, game meat and long aged cheeses, but also appreciated on its own, to sip as a meditation wine for tasting by deep-wines-enthusiasts. A curiosity: why the name «L'Orgoglio»? “L'Orgoglio” means “The Pride”. The word "pride" is here to be understood in the meaning of "justified pride", so being proud of a job well done, being proud of being who we are and of what we have managed to achieve. This wine, the first GRAND SELECTION of Terre di Perseto, is our pride, the culmination of years, from the 2019 harvest to the launch on the market in this spring of 2023, of dedication, care and love for our countryside and our vineyards. But it is also the emblem of a proud passion that always remains alive, which does not rest on the present but which constantly looks to the future, in order to feel more and more proud tomorrow than today of who we are and what we do. Pride is the flame that feeds our desire to improve ourselves, but at the same time it keeps us tied to this land of Tuscany, constantly keeping us on the right path, without so many frivolities but with a concrete and ardent awareness of being able to - and so, having to - give more.
